The winners of the 2021 MMI/Barron’s Industry Awards were announced at MMI’s 2021 Annual Conference, held November 11, 2021. Horizon was the only firm to receive this award. Nominations were reviewed and evaluated by MMI Industry Awards Steering Council and the MMI Membership Experience Committee (MEC). The council and committee members represent all segments of the MMI membership—asset managers, wealth managers and solutions providers. The Steering Council and MEC reviewed the nominations based on: level of innovation and forward-thinking, potential to effect noticeable change in the investment advisory industry, advancement of existing investment advisory practices and protocols, and potential to deliver improved outcomes for financial advisors and investors. After carefully reviewing the nominations submitted, the Steering Council and MEC determined a slate of finalists in each award category. The primary contacts at each of MMI’s 182 members firms were eligible to vote to determine the winners in each category. Top Financial Advisers

FT 300 Ranking June 2014

Top Financial Advisers ranked Horizon Investments on their June 2014 Financial Times 300 List. The Financial Times’ methodology is quantifiable and objective. To qualify for the list, an investment adviser must be registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and have $300m or more in assets under management. The RIA firms had no subjective input. The FT then invited qualifying RIA firms – more than 2,000 – to fill in a lengthy application that gave more information about their practices. Applications were augmented with FT’s research into the practices, including data from regulatory filings. The formula the FT uses to grade advisers is based on six broad factors and calculates a numeric score for each adviser. Areas of consideration include adviser assets under management, asset growth, the firm’s years in existence, industry certifications of key employees at the firms, SEC compliance record and online accessibility. There were four other RIAs from North Carolina who made the FT 300 List. Horizon Investments did not pay to participate. See additional information here.
