Mr. Drahzal is President and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He oversees the company’s growth and acquisition initiatives and all aspects of the company’s operations, which include investment management, consulting, sales and marketing, technology, finance and legal.
Mr. Drahzal joined Horizon in 2017 and previously served as President, overseeing all aspects of the firm’s distribution strategy, including sales, marketing, and strategic account management.
Previous to Horizon, Mr. Drahzal served as President of Reich & Tang, at the time an investment affiliate of Natixis Global Asset Management, leading their growth initiatives. Prior to that, he held various leadership roles at Prudential Investments, eventually being named Head of Distribution, responsible for the firm’s mutual fund and separately managed account business. Mr. Drahzal began his career at Victory Asset Management and was part of the leadership team that launched the firm’s mutual fund business.
Mr. Drahzal is a graduate of Skidmore College with a B.S. in Business Administration and of Case Western Reserve University with an M.B.A. in Finance. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses.
Mr. Ladner serves as Chief Investment Officer and is the Chair of the Investment Committee for Horizon. In these capacities, he oversees all aspects of the Investment Management division for the firm. He also provides the Investment Management division with macro analysis and interpretation of global derivatives, credit, foreign exchange, equity, and funding markets. His previous roles at Horizon included Head of Risk and Director of Quantitative & Alternative Strategies.
Prior to joining Horizon in 2010, Mr. Ladner was a founder of Charlotte Global Advisors and Principal Guard, LLC. Mr. Ladner helped to launch an equity index volatility and dispersion trading unit at PEΔK6 Investments in Chicago, a proprietary listed option and volatility trading firm. Previously at First Union/Wachovia, Mr. Ladner founded and ran the equity swap and forwards portfolio while also managing equity option and volatility portfolios. He also co-founded and managed the Risk Arbitrage and Special Situations portfolio. Mr. Ladner then managed the swaption and cap/floor portion of the bank’s interest rate derivatives portfolio.
Mr. Ladner received his B.A. in Economics and Russian Language & Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Mr. Terry is CFO of Horizon and oversees all financial functions of the firm including financial planning and analysis, reporting, budgeting, banking, and capital raising. He is a member of Horizon’s Executive Committee. Additionally, Mr. Terry serves as the Principal Financial Officer of Horizon Funds.
Prior to joining Horizon in 2017, Mr. Terry spent over a decade in Private Equity, building businesses across a number of industries. Mr. Terry began his career at Capital One, where he managed several areas of the consumer lending business.
Mr. Terry studied engineering at Cornell University, earning both a BS and Masters in Operations Research while competing on the varsity Track & Field team. He also earned an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, where he is a frequent guest speaker..
Mr. Chambers joined Horizon in 2014 as its General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer; he has also been Chief Compliance Officer of Horizon Funds since 2015.
Prior to joining Horizon, Mr. Chambers was an attorney with the law firm of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, where he focused on representing investment advisers and mutual funds.
He is a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals, and is a regular speaker on investment management and compliance matters for ICI, NSCP and other industry groups.
Mr. Chambers received his JD from University of Georgia School of Law and a B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Mr. DeBoer serves as Chief Technology and Operations Officer (CTO/COO) and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is responsible for establishing Horizon’s technology strategy and leading all aspects of the firm’s digital product and software development initiatives. He oversees the firm’s trading, operations, performance reporting, and data functions.
Mr. DeBoer has been a member of the Horizon team since 2007, when he joined as a research analyst. Shortly after that, he became Head of Trading for ETFs and, over the years, continued to add more senior roles and responsibilities in cyber security, software development, and technology strategy to his areas of oversight.
Mr. DeBoer graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.S. in Business Administration. He is an avid programmer and a code contributor to Horizon’s proprietary software and several open-source projects.
Ms. Learned serves as Chief of Staff for Horizon and is a member of Horizon’s Executive Committee. In this role, she is responsible for leading the planning and execution of the firm’s various strategic initiatives; helping translate the firm’s mission and vision into action.
Prior to this role, Ms. Learned was Director of Client Operations for the Horizon One team and served as the relationship manager for the firm’s Consulting clients.
Prior to joining Horizon Investments in 2018, Ms. Learned was an Assistant Vice President of Advisory Product Management with LPL Financial responsible for the firm’s mutual fund and ETF strategist platform. Her experience in the financial services industry dates back to 2011 with Oppenheimer & Co, Inc, Prudential Annuities, and MetLife Securities, Inc.
Ms. Learned holds a B.S. in Management from Western Connecticut State University and holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63 and 65.
