We’ve talked about it for months, and it’s finally here! The first Presidential debate is this Tuesday, September 29th — and we’re now just 39 days from Election Day 2020.
The vacancy on the Supreme Court left by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing has already changed the fabric of this race. Next week’s debate offers the two candidates, former VP Biden and incumbent President Trump, their first chance to engage directly with one another. What are we expecting the outcome to be? The injection of more volatility into an already contentious race. The stock market’s mood has been sour these last few weeks, potentially due to concerns about a contested election result. We expect to know more about the likelihood of that after seeing how each candidate performs on the national stage next week. Bottom line: prepare for more volatility ahead, during what’s shaping up to be a contentious — and potentially contested — race to election day. Have you read our 2020 US Election Outlook?
